John certainly helped us achieve it. Since the building has been completed, it has become one of the favourite locations for students
The site of Ironlatch Avenue sits behind established homes, alongside Ancient Woodland and on a site that was designated as a Local
Wildlife Site by the local council.
The design brief was to provide as many homes as the site can contain. John’s approach was to consider the boundaries and relationship with the ancient woodland to provide homes that will enhance the area and take advantage of the green, secluded setting.
Nine new homes are proposed, all with long views towards the ancient woodland and arrayed around a central ‘green’. A new road, designed to be as unobtrusive as possible and as a shared space, extends from the private driveways to provide additional places where children can play.
Planning success was achieved by way of appeal and construction of the scheme is due to commence in 2020.
